Be Our guest!

Continuing on our tour of New Fantasyland...

I was on the phone the day that it opened up for reservations. I waited over an hour to talk to someone. I was then told that the earliest reservation would be December 22. So as a Christmas present to myself, I will be dining at Be our Guest restaraunt! So naturally, I was most excited to see this. I had heard nothing but good things from everyone else that has seen the inside or tasted the quick service menu. But I was not prepared for what was inside.

There are simply no words to describe this scene. It is like they took my favorate moment from my favorite childhood movie, and made it real. On the far end of the restaraunt were these Massive windows! And snow!! Yes! It looked like it was snowing outside!

There are three dining rooms at Be Our Guest. The main dining room was the ballroom scene (My personal favorite) The second scene we saw was the encchanted garden theme.

How Beautiful! But then, on the opposite side of this dining room, was the mysterious West Wing. It was so earie and woderfully sppoky. And it also had the enchanted rose!

We had such a great time walking through the restaraunt and admiring the detail and beauty that it had. We also got a sneap peak at the menus!

Inside the menu there are wine pairings associated with each main course. I'm  not sure how I feel about this yet. Magic Kingdom prides itself on being a dry park. It has always been. But then again, I understand that times are changing and alcohol is a big sell in the other parks. I'm just worried that if this becomes a success, then there will be alcohol al throughout the Magic Kingdom. How much is too much?

We exited the restaraunt and made our way to Bonjour gifts and Gaston's tavern. The line to get into Gaston's was already wrapping outside the door! We decided to skip that one and head into Bonjour gifts. There was some cool New Fantasyland merchandise, but nothing that really stood out. I supposed they are waiting until it is officially open before they bring out the good stuff.

As we exited the shop. (I love a little shop!) We saw a crowd gathering over by the fountain.

Yes! How cool! It was Gaston! In all his pompous glory! There was no line for him, he just roamed the area, stopping every once in awhile to pose for pictures. But I finally snagged one with him.

How Fun! Our next stop was the little Mermaid Ride! My mom was most excited about this ride and I knew it would be so cute!

This is us waiting in line for the Little Mermaid! We were so excited!!!

The didn't have the interactive queue open, but that was okay. We were more wanting to ride the ride anyway.
I thought the ride was very similar to the Seas with Nemo and Friends, with the shell cars moving on the omnimover system. But it was super cute. And yes, my mom was that person, taking pictures during the ride.

We had such a great time at the New Fantasyland preview! And it was so wonderful to spend the entire day with my mom. There are too many destractions when I go home and visit, I never really spend time with her. But I think that this is just what we needed. Now I'm trying to convince her to come up to see the Christmas Decorations!!

Welcome to the Enchanted Forest

My mom and I went to the cast preview to New Fantasyland a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful to spend some quality time with my mom. Both us us have been looking foward to seeing what the New Fantasyland has to offer. We arrived early, we didn't want to be late! We were glad we did, becuase there was already quite a line for the wristbands. But soon we were good to go!

Soon we entered the new Fantasyland with wide eyes and huge smiles. Everything was beautiful! The detail was absolutely incredible! On our left was Enchanted tales with Belle. There was already 30 minute wait for it. I knew it would be a slow loading show, so this was probably the lowest wait time we would see. We hopped in line and were immediatlely greeted by wonderful CM's.

"Bonjour!"

"Bonjour!"

The line went a little faster than I thought. Which was fine with me, as it was getting a little warmer. We did get to spend some quality time talking and fantasizing what the seven dwarfs mine train ride would be like.
Before we knew it, we were heading into Belle's Cottage.
WOW! What an amazing room! The detail is fantastic!! The Imagineers did a wonderful job! Not a detail missed. My favorite part was the portit on the wall of young Belle and her Mother. How beautiful!

Soon we entered the preshow area. I dont have any pictures from that. Spoilers!
I love the interactive-ness of this show! Everyone who wanted a part got one, but it was much funnier when you had work for it though. (Such as singing or hopping) My mom and I didnt get a part, but we were okay with it, we're more people watchers anyway. :)

After the "Rehersals" Lumiere led us into the Library, where we waited to suprise Belle!

I loved this show. I loved how the guests were put into the middle of all of the action. Shy guests were suddenly barking, or rawring, or singing at the top of their lungs. And the best part? If  you were a part of the show, you got to have your picture taken with Belle!!

Tomorrow, I'll talk about the Be Our Guest Restaraunt! And Gaston!! So charming!

Birthday on Land, and on the sea!

Monday was my 21st birthday! It was such a fantastic day! I spent the day with one of my closest friends at Epcot, enjoying the wine portion of Food and Wine. :) (Although we never got any further than Mexico, those darn Margaritas!)

After awhile we began to walk around the world Showcase. It was so much fun walking around, wearing my birthday button like a badge of honor! (My friend made me on with a big 21 on it. I got a free Margarita in Mexico!) We finally stopped in Germany, to one of the best kept secrets in all of Epcot, Karamelle-Kuche. Best Caramel Popcorn on property.

We didn't get Popcorn. My friend got a caramel apple, and I got a caramel drizzled brownie. (Not very good, Why was it so dry?) But the CM noted my birthday button and I got a free chocolate covered marshmallow as a treat! Yum!

But the best part of my actually began before I went to Epcot. I know, 'How can there be something more exciting than spending your birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth?!?' Well, In December I will be off the grid for four days as I am GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE!

Oh yeah, my roommate and I are going to spend some time on the Disney Dream, going to the Bahamas, and getting some well deserved R&R.

This is a huge vacation for me. And it couldn't come at a better, or worse time. Lately I have been feeling like I am in a rut. I need something fun and relaxing in my life. And the parks can only do so much. This is going to be wonderful, just getting away from  everything. On the other hand, we are moving at the end of December, and with the cruise at the beginning of the month, I will have to work even harder to make sure that everything is planned out, because I will be losing precious time. (I'm a planner I know)

I'm not even sure what to expect when we go. I just want to relax by the pool, read my books, and then eat until I pop! (And see the shows, and meet the characters, and of course, ride the AquaDuck)

I've got 22 days to do as much research as possible. 22 days to get cruise clothes, 22 days to get my kindle ready with the perfect reading material (Shada? Yes?) 22 days to get mentally prepared to GO ON VACATION!

The Rebirth

Is it bad that I stumbled upon my own blog? I guess that means people are still reading it.

It is extremely hard to update it when you are living, and working, and spending all of your time at the parks with your new friends.
I guess time slips away.
But now I have become a local. And I still work at the Happiest Place on Earth. (Although it is not my only job)
I don't really have time to go to the parks as much as I used to. But I feel that, living here now, I can enjoy a lot of the little details that I would just blow past as I'm rushing to Soarin' or Test Track. (Which I have been itching to ride even since it went down for the MASSIVE refurb)
But, this year is my 21st birthday and I defiantly plan to spend it at EPCOT, drinking around the world with some of my closest friends!
My family is also coming up a month earlier to enjoy food and wine. But seeing as I won't be 21 then, I'm going to enjoy the food part with them, and the wine part with my friends ;)
I went a few years ago and it was a fantastic experience! (Oh another thing. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, so I may make a few references and even dedicate a whole post or two about him)
The best part about Food and Wine is spending time with my Mom. It's something that we both really look forward to every year, and I love that it is something that we can do together.
